New!South University, Savannah Announces 100 Percent Pass Rate For Anesthesiologist Assistant Students Taking NCCAA Exam

SAVANNAH, Ga., Aug. 30, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- South University, Savannah is pleased to announce that 100 percent of its students taking the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants ( NCCAA ) exam in 2018 passed. This marks 11 of 13 years since the program's inception that students have achieved this result.

The NCCAA provides the certification process for anesthesiologist assistants in the United States. The certification process for anesthesiologist assistants includes an initial certifying examination, ongoing registration of continuing medical education, and interval examinations for continued demonstration of qualifications.

The Master of Medical Science in Anesthesia Science program at South University, Savannah was developed to provide education in current practices in anesthesiology and instill the highest standards of professionalism and service to patients. The program consists of 169 quarter hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical education, and takes place over the course of nine quarters or 28 months.

Throughout the program's history, 100 percent of students enrolled in the program were working within their field of study immediately following graduation. According to the American Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants , "The starting salary for CAAs is about $110,000 annually, with generous sign on bonuses, an average of five weeks vacation each year, pension and profit sharing, and other excellent benefits."

  • PsyD in Clinical Psychology Program at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University Announces Continued Grant of Accreditation

    PHOENIX, Sept. 6, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University is pleased to announce that the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) program was awarded a continued grant of accreditation from the American Psychological Association (APA).

    APA accreditation reflects that the PsyD program, as well as its faculty, curriculum, and support systems meet the standards established by the leading professional organization. The program was reaccredited for ten years, the maximum amount of time allowed by the APA's Commission on Accreditation.

    "The central goal of our Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program is to prepare graduates to become competent, valuable contributors to the field of professional psychology," said Dr. Eric Johnson, dean of the program.   • Art Institutes Culinary Students to Assist in Preparation of Thanksgiving Day Dinner at NYC's Prestigious James Beard House

    PITTSBURGH, Nov. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Six culinary students from The Art Institutes system of schools have earned the opportunity to help prepare dinner at New York City's famed James Beard House. They will join four of their chef instructors to prepare the James Beard Holiday Table , a six-course meal offered on Thanksgiving Day.

    Students from across The Art Institutes system of schools were invited to apply to the James Beard Student Experience, a competition that awards six students with an all-expense paid trip to New York City, Nov. 19 - 23. In addition to the honor of cooking at the James Beard House, students will participate in a culinary tour of the city and shadow a chef at a New York City restaurant.

    "We are honored to prepare Thanksgiving dinner for attendees at the prestigious James Beard House," said Chef David Hendricksen, CCE, CCC, director of culinary programs at The Art Institutes.     PITTSBURGH, Feb. 21, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Six culinary graduates of The Art Institutes system of schools were named semifinalists in the prestigious 2018 James Beard Awards.

    Martha de Leon of Pax Americana in Houston was named a semifinalist in the Rising Star Chef of the Year category. De Leon is a 2011 graduate of the Bachelor of Science in Culinary Management program at The Art Institute of Houston.

    Pat O'Malley of Hungry Pigeon in Philadelphia was named a semifinalist in the Outstanding Pastry Chef category. O'Malley is a 2001 graduate of the Associate of Science in Culinary Arts program at The Art Institute of Philadelphia.

    Jose Salazar of Mita's Cincinnati was named a semifinalist in the Best Chef Great Lakes category. Salazar is a 2001 graduate of the diploma in culinary arts program at The Art Institute of New York City (formerly the New York Restaurant School).
